Ironman 2 and some exciting previews….
Jon Favreau hits another one out of the park with this entertaining sequel. Very well put together, the one liners were perfectly timed, hardly any clichès. Favreau sticks to the story and presents it well. Mickey Rourke’s Russian accent is suspect, however, and Scarlett Johansson surprises with a convincing Agent Natasha Romanoff. SPOILER ALERT: Favreau ends the film with a perfect set up for the upcoming “Thor” movie as well as “The Avengers” and a possible “Nick Fury” film. I haven’t been this excited for films in a very long time. I give this film a very well deserved ”A”.
TRAILERS: Some new trailers were shown, and I am very excited for these upcoming summer films. M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender” looks amazing. Whether or not you like his films is up for debate for another time, but I have high expectations for this film. Adam Sandler has gotten some of his old SNL cast members together for an upcoming film, co-written by Sandler, called “Grown Ups”. It looks a little silly, but we haven’t seen these guys together for a while, so they might surprise us. “Inception” starring Leonardo DiCaprio looks great, and J.J. Abram’s “Super 8” trailer looked amazing, I am REALLY looking forward to this one. Everyone online keeps talking about, from seeing the trailer, how “Cloverfield-ish” it looks like, and well, I disagree. Seeing this trailer, “Super 8” is as mysterious as J.J. Abrams is intending it to be. All I do know, is that Steven Spielberg is producing the film, which was the highlight of the trailers…
